Episode 1

A Surface Knowledge of Hoaxes

This is the very first episode in this brand-new series!!!

Surface Knowledge is the podcast that delivers just enough info to impress anyone in 30 minutes or less.

To kick us off Max gives you a very quick surface knowledge and understanding of what the show involves.

Then we look at what is a hoax how it differs from a conspiracy and why hoaxes exist in the first place.

We look at three famous examples of hoaxes throughout history that can hopefully help us answer these questions.

  1. The Great Moon Hoax of 1835
  2. The Piltdown Man
  3. The Cardiff Giant

All of these stories set the stage for how hoaxes have evolved and why we must be even more wary of being deceived in the digital age.

Rounding out the episode with some fun facts that you can use in everyday situations.

Thank you so much for tuning into this first episode. We'll be back every week with a new topic and discussion. Please make sure to subscribe and share around to help this podcast grow.
